Franklin natives and cousins J.J. King and Mark White will lead the new store as dealer consultant and branch manager, respectively. Both have been with Comfort Supply since 2008. As members of the historic King family, which founded Kingfield, Tennessee in 1846, the cousins bring a set of familiar faces, as well as home-grown work ethics, to the new store.

I’ve always admired the Kings as strong-willed, hard working people who would do anything for you – and I am honored that two members of this proud family are running our newest operation.

Have you heard the news? We recently created a new department dedicated to the commercial HVAC market.

We’ve always carried commercial products, but now, with a dedicated commercial team, we’re able to provide you with quicker turnaround on project quotes, in-stock equipment for replacement or retrofit jobs, expert knowledge of equipment alternates and, as always, great products.

Bill Baushke and Don Chubb, commercial business development manager and inside commercial salesman, respectively, will lead the new commercial department from our Nashville branch. The department will service all commercial projects near our six locations: Nashville, Cookeville, Clarksville, Franklin, Murfreesboro and Knoxville.

Tennessee is booming right now—in fact, it was recently named the 2013 state of the year for economic development by Business Facilities magazine. More companies are expanding and relocating here, so commercial HVAC products are in high demand. We’ve had a good few years and we’re set to do even better this year—we’ve already sold 30 percent more commercial equipment than we did in 2013.

1. Keyword Searches

Using the search bar located at the top-right corner of the screen, you can locate specific HVAC products by using keywords associated with the product or manufacturer you’re looking for. The search page will only display the products or brands most relevant to your keyword search. For a more specific search, contractors can use our advanced search option to search by item number, manufacturer number or exact phrase and any/all word matches.

2. Account Management

Our online store allows you to manage your business through various tabs under one website, including the ability to view order histories, invoices, statements and payment info. Under the “Jobs/Lists” tab, you can create organized lists for specific projects or product categories. If you aren’t ready to order, you can always save the kit you’re working on for later use. The saved content will be available to view, update or purchase at another time.

3. Mobile Site

We know you’re busy and need products fast. That’s why we guarantee same day delivery on orders over $500 placed before 10 a.m. To qualify, all products must be purchased from the same Comfort Supply store. With this feature, you can place an online order in the morning and have the materials ready to go before your afternoon appointment.

A Modern Distribution Management/Baird Distribution survey recently showed the HVAC industry as one of the expected sales leaders for the fourth quarter.

While the first half of 2014 growth was less than expected due to unfavorable weather, sales forecasts for the remainder of the year remain optimistic. HVAC companies predict an average annual growth of 4.8% in the fourth quarter. In comparison, of the almost 20 distribution industries represented, only two predicted a higher percentage: plumbing and mechanical/power transmission. Just below the HVAC sector in predicted sales were the cutting tools and safety products industries.

The hopeful outlook comes just a few months before The Department of Energy’s new efficiency ratings increase. These changes, outlined in a recent blog, will save homeowners an estimated 5% annually on utility bills, but may come at a higher cost to customers. Of the distributors surveyed by Modern Distribution Management, 63% cited this type of government regulation as a limiting factor for company growth.

Despite the transition period, however, almost 80% of distributors across the board expect to maintain or increase their inventories in the third quarter.

We are thrilled to introduce our newest team member, Daniel Woodard.

Daniel will join the Murfreesboro location as lead counter salesman. He will oversee the daily operations at the front counter and tend to the needs of customers. He previously worked for C.C. Dickson Company in heating and air conditioning sales.

In addition to his sales experience, Daniel brings extensive knowledge of HVAC systems to our team. He holds several industry certifications, including one from the Environmental Protection Agency.

A native of Murfreesboro, Daniel knows the local market and will be a great addition to our sales team. His impressive sales background and knowledge of the HVAC industry make him a great fit for the lead counter sales position.
